Hello from our new Curate

We are delighted to be welcoming Leanne, a new part-time curate who will be joining the team in the South Newbury benefice on 30th June, based initially at St John’s Church. Leanne introduces herself:

My name is Leanne and I am privileged to be your new Curate.  I live in Thatcham with my horticulturalist husband Graham, and my daughter Isabel. Our son lives nearby with his family including our grandson, Luca who you may see toddling around on occasion.  Currently, I work in a primary school as a Pastoral Support Assistant, where I work with many children and their families across all walks of life. I’ll be sad to leave but I will be staying on as a Governor so get to keep my school family as well as welcoming you all as my Church family.  I have a particular interest in the beauty of silence so listening out for God’s voice can be explored at a deeper level. I love working with people considered ‘on the edges’ so they can discover how wonderful God can be in the rollercoaster that is life.  I also have a keen interest in well being, providing  safe places for people to talk.  My family and I are looking forward to meeting you all, working alongside you all, and becoming a part of such a wonderful benefice.
