A progressive and inclusive benefice in the south of Newbury
West Berks Foodbank
We may be heading out of lockdown but the West Berks Food Bank still has an urgent need for food items to be donated.
There is a collection box in the cloister area outside St George’s Church, which is emptied regularly during the day. Please drop off any donations as you are passing. The collection point is open open Tuesday – Sunday, from 10.00am – 2.00pm (and often longer).
There are also collection points in supermarkets, and at Sainsbury Local and the Co-op in Wash Common.
There is always an up-to-date list of the items most needed on the Foodbank app. The following list is updated regularly.
Rather than taking food – you can donate money to the Foodbank here DONATE

Dear friends, we are all facing great challenges, and alongside many other parts of our usual social life, the church has had to respond, and we have had to restrict our social gatherings and limit our services.
What this means is a different kind of church, because we are church in many more ways than meeting on Sunday services… St George’s and St John’s are both working to find ways to nurture and support our communities…
