Candlemas Services 30th January

Both churches in the Benefice are looking forward to celebrating the Presentation of Christ in the Temple, also known as Candlemas. This feast marks the end of the Christmas Season and Epiphany, a season where we explore the many surprising ways that God is experienced and discovered in the world.

At Candlemas we celebrate that light illuminating and revealing something unforeseen.

We are inviting everyone to bring a candle for this service, which will then be blessed for use in the home.

At St John’s, the Candlemas service is also our time to celebrate Christingle, in aid of the Children’s Society. We are looking forward to inviting families from our parish, our toddler group and St Johns School to process with Christingles and Candles… who knows where the light will take us?!
