Welcome to St John’s Church in the south of Newbury…

St John’s is a modern Anglo-Catholic church in Newbury, offering a warm welcome to all.

We are a friendly community who are seeking to explore faith, worship and life together, held in the rich heritage of an evolving tradition.

Our goal is to be a truly ‘Parish Church’ one which serves the needs of all people in our Parish; celebrating diversity, creativity, hospitality and compassion, and discovering God in all these.

St John’s Church is a welcoming community in south Newbury. We seek to explore faith and life in a way that is honest to God and honest to the times we live in.
Both art and community help us to think about being human; widening our experiences and introducing us to different stories.
St John’s is seeking to host art events and creative workshops with our friends in the community.
Many of our services have a contemplative feel; making space to pray, think, or simply be.
Contact the office to find out more, or simply take a look at what goes on in the week.
We live in the 21st century with many contradictions and questions in life.
Both churches in our benefice are exploring a ‘Realistic Christianity’ – rooted in the real world, and wrestling difficult questions.
