St George’s Jubilee celebrations

What a joy it was to gather as the local community and celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The flower festival in the church was beautiful and enjoyed by many over the long weekend. The team looking after the flowers have worked hard to keep them going and there’s still a couple of days still to see them.

The service and ‘street’ party were both moved into the hall due to the weather but it didn’t dampen our spirits and both were much appreciated by over 100 people. The party included some hilarious games outside for young and older alike, a rousing sing-a-long, conga line and a huge amount of cake!
