COP26 – our Benefice response – St John

St John’s joined with St George’s to mark the pivotal time at the start of the COP26 meetings in Glasgow.

We joined with churches throughout the UK and worldwide to ring bells of alarm and rallying together from 6-6.30pm on Saturday 30th October, (maybe you heard them?)

The bell ringing was part of a longer Vigil we held in the church that evening, which was attended by many in the benefice as well as environmental activists and faith groups in the local area.

It was a deeply poignant space to think, pray and reflect, with interactive art spaces too. It felt really significant to gather with others for this moment.
